How cancellations, date changes and refunds work on a Dubai Desert Safari booking, including what happens when the weather or the desert conditions change our plans.
Last updated: 24 September 2026
Plans change, and the desert has a say in them too. This policy explains when you can cancel or move a Dubai Desert Safari booking, what happens if we have to cancel, and how any refund is paid. It applies to bookings made through this website, by email or by WhatsApp, and forms part of our Terms & Conditions.
Tell us as early as you can. The quickest way is WhatsApp or a phone call to +971 58 931 5366, or an email to book@dubai-desertsafari.ae.
Please include the name the booking was made in, the tour date and the package. A cancellation takes effect from the moment we receive your message, so the timing of your message is what sets the terms below.
Our standard cancellation terms are based on how long before your pickup time we hear from you:
Private tours, per car packages and large group bookings may carry different terms because the vehicle is reserved for you alone. Where that applies we confirm the terms in writing when we confirm your booking, and those terms take priority over the ones above.
If your plans have shifted but you still want the tour, ask us to move the date rather than cancel. Where we have availability, we are happy to move a booking at no extra charge if you tell us more than 24 hours before pickup, and we will hold what you have paid against the new date.
One free date change is allowed per booking. A change to a package with a higher price means paying the difference, and a change to a lower priced package does not create a refund of the difference.
Our driver collects several groups along a route, so there is only a short window at each pickup point. If nobody from your group is at the agreed pickup point at the agreed time, and we cannot reach you by phone or WhatsApp, the booking is treated as a no-show and no refund is due.
If you are running late, call or message us straight away. We will do what we can to fit you in, but we cannot hold the vehicle or delay the rest of the group.
Where fewer guests travel than the number booked, the price for the guests who do not travel is treated under the cancellation terms above.
Occasionally we have to cancel a tour. This is usually for safety, for example during a sandstorm, heavy rain, poor visibility or extreme heat, or where access to the desert area is restricted or the authorities instruct us to stop.
When we cancel a tour, you choose between:
A cancellation for safety is never treated as a cancellation by you, and no cancellation charge applies.
The desert sets its own conditions, and an individual activity is sometimes not possible on the day. Where the tour goes ahead but one activity cannot run for safety reasons, we will offer a suitable alternative at the camp wherever possible, or refund the value of that activity where it was a priced part of your package.
Activities you choose not to take part in on the day, such as a camel ride or a quad bike session included in your package, are not refundable.
Refunds are made to the person who made the booking, using the same method the payment was made with. Bank transfers are returned to the account the payment came from, and card payments are returned to the same card.
We process approved refunds within 7 working days. Depending on your bank or card issuer, the money can take a further 5 to 10 working days to appear on your statement. Any bank charge applied by your own bank for receiving an international transfer is outside our control.
Refunds are made in UAE dirhams. If your account is held in another currency, the amount you receive depends on the exchange rate applied by your bank on the day.
If you booked your tour through a hotel, a travel agent or another booking platform rather than directly with us, their cancellation and refund terms apply to your booking and any refund is handled by them. Please contact them first, and let us know so we can release your seats.
If part of your tour did not go as it should have, tell us while you are still at the camp or on the same day if you can. Problems are far easier to put right at the time, and our team on the ground can often fix them immediately.
If you would still like us to look into it afterwards, email us within 14 days of your tour with your booking name, the date and what happened. We will review it with the operator concerned and come back to you with a decision, including any refund or partial refund we consider fair.
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect how we work or what the law requires. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. The policy that applies to your booking is the one published when we confirmed it.
